The meeting of the interdepartmental working group on regulating the operation modes of the Volga-Kama Cascade reservoirs was held today with Federal Water Resources Agency via videoconference . Following the results of the meeting, the approved modes of operation of reservoirs will be published on the Federal Water Resources Agency website. A follow-up meeting of the IWG is scheduled for early February.

The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksandr Shadrikov, representatives of Tatenergo AO, Roshydromet, Rosrybolovstvo, RAO UES of Russia, RusHydro PAO, as well as executive authorities of Samara, Saratov, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions took part in the video conferencing meeting with the Federal Water Resources Agency.

The regulation of the operating modes of the Volga-Kama cascade reservoirs was discussed at the regular meeting of the Interagency Working Group. The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksandr Shadrikov, representatives of Tatenergo AO, Roshydromet, Rosrybolovstvo, RAO UES of Russia, RusHydro PAO, as well as executive bodies of Samara, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions participated in the videoconference meeting.

During the meeting, the Federal Agency for Water Resources presented options for the design modes of operation of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade during the spring flood for the period from April 10 to 26. It is planned that if any of the proposed options is implemented, the Kuibyshev reservoir will operate at least 51.5 m BS during the spring agricultural and fishery releases.

The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Aleksandr Shadrikov, took part in the discussion of regulation of the regimes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade. The meeting was held at the Federal Agency for Water Resources. The current water level in the Kuibyshev reservoir is 52.52 m and will remain at this level until the end of October. Since the beginning of November, a minor drawdown of the reservoir will begin.
