A meeting was held today to regulate the modes of operation of the Volga-Kama cascade

8 November 2022, Tuesday

A regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating the operation modes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama Cascade was held today via videoconference.

The meeting was attended by members of the working group, including representatives of Rosrybolovstvo, Rosmorrechflot, Roshydromet, RAO UES of Russia, PJSC RusHydro, JSC Tatenergo and executive authorities of subjects, including Volgograd, Astrakhan, Saratov regions, the Republic of Mari El.

The Republic of Tatarstan was traditionally represented at the meeting by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov and a representative of JSC Tatenergo.

The issue of establishing the operating modes of the hydroelectric units of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade for the period from November 11 to December 10 was discussed. During the previous period (11.10.2022 to 08.11.2022), the reservoir worked gradually with an intensity of less than 1 cm per day. This regime was favorable for water management, navigation and reproduction of aquatic biological resources.

Alexander Shadrikov supported the modes of operation of reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade proposed by Rosvodresurs, which are aimed at saving water resources of the Kuibyshev reservoir, since it is the flow regulator of the entire cascade.

The established modes will be published on the official website of Rosvodresurs.
