Today via videoconference, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander Shadrikov, took part in a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating the operation modes of Volga-Kama cascade reservoirs. The meeting, organized by the Federal Agency for Water Resources, was also attended by representatives of Rosrybolovstvo, Rosmorrechflot, Roshydromet, RAO UES of Russia, PJSC RusHydro, JSC Tatenergo and executive authorities of the Volgograd, Astrakhan, Saratov regions, the Republic of Mari El.
The meeting discussed the issues of establishing the operating modes of the Volga-Kama cascade reservoirs for the period from December 11, 2022 to January 20, 2023.
During the previous period (11.11.2022 to 08.12.2022), the water level in the reservoir was maintained in a stable mode. Federal Water Resources Agency proposed to extend the operating mode of the Kuibyshev reservoir with an average discharge flow rate of 4800 ± 100 cubic meters/s for the period.
Taking into account the decrease in inflow to the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade in winter, the proposals of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan were aimed at reducing costs to 4,600 ± 100 cubic meters/s in order to prevent a sharp decrease in the water level in the Kuibyshev reservoir.
The established modes will be published on the official website of Rosvodresurs.
