The idea of holding World Water Day was first proposed at 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro.

On March 16-17, traditional city celebration of Bird Day dedicated to the Year of National Identity and History of Russia was held in Nizhnekamsk. In the framework of this event, pupils of the Children’s Ecological and Biological Center met with V.A. Mitrofanov, State Inspector of Trans-Kama Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, who told them about the measures taken to protect birds in winter.

Today the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov has held a regular meeting of the interdepartmental working group on elaboration of proposals related to clean-up activities of Sredniy Kaban Lake.

Today, the All-Russian research-to-practice conference “Science in Russian Universities as the basis for technical and technological innovations” was held at Almetyevsk Branch of Kazan State Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev (former Kazan Aviation Institute) in the framework of the annual Science Week with the participation of Ramil Nizamov, Head of South-Eastern Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Artem Sidorov, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Administrator of Almetyevsk Municipal District participated today in the 12th session of Almetyevsk Municipal District Council. The main topic brought up for discussion concerned elections of the Head of Almetyevsk Municipal District. The session was held in Almetyevsk Dramatic Theatre with participation of Farid Mukhametshin, the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.

     The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov on behalf of all the male staff congratulated women on this spring holiday.

     Artem Sidorov expressed his appreciation and respect to all the women working in the staff and wished them sound health, happiness, success and prosperity.
     On March 8, the concert in honor of the holiday took place in the hall of the Ministry's Board.

The working session concerning ecological safety in Nizhnekamsk and Nizhnekamsk Municipal District was held last week in Trans-Kama Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan with the participation of the first Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Kamalov.
