A large-scale clean-up was held today in the Victory Park of Kazan. Tatarstan joined the All-Russian action “Green Russia”. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and representatives of 15 ex-USSR republics planted a lilac alley in the park territory – “Alley of Victory and Friendship”. In total, more than one hundred seedlings of trees have been planted in the park. Today, it was decided to rehabilitate the lake in Victory Park.
The adjacent territory of the Kazan Arena and the shoreline of the Kazanka River was cleaned today of garbage by well-known sportsmen, active fans, young people, and students of Tatarstan. A large-scale clean-up was held in the framework of the All-Russian ecological action “Green Russia”. It should be noted that the stadium “Kazan Arena” is one of the few in Russia certified under the Russian voluntary certification system “RUSO. Football stadiums”.
Today the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev took part in the opening of the office of the Youth Environmental Movement “Budetchisto”. The Minister noted the active work of the environmental movement: “For two years, we have been working together with the ecological movement “Budetcisto”. Pollution of atmospheric air at burning fuel oil is unacceptable. CHP are prohibited from using this fuel for saving reasons. Its using shall be allowed only in emergency situations, after which the environmental impact must be compensated. This was announced today in Nizhnekamsk by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev. Under the chairmanship of the Minister, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Ensuring Environmental Safety under the Development of the Nizhnekamsk Industrial Hub was held. The event was attended by Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Aidar Metshin.
Students of the Kazan school No. 100 went to the traditional school clean-up. Rubber gloves, garbage bags, and a huge desire to help nature is all that was enough to clean the nearby forest. 250 schoolchildren-volunteers formed a single environmental team, to which the inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan also joined.

On May 1, 1920, the population of Kazan and Kazan Province took an active part in the All-Russian May Day Clean-up. To manage all works, both in preparation for the action and in its conduct, a special Office was established at the Kazan Province executive committee.
“By the beginning of the XX century, Kazan has significantly changed its appearance, turning into a more comfortable city, but its sanitary condition was still a weak point in the city economy of Kazan, not only in pre-revolutionary, but also in subsequent years”.
