The impact of human activities on nature, pollution of water bodies, formation of garbage dumps – these and other issues on the Day of Environmental Knowledge were discussed in the secondary general Tatar-Russian school No. 48 of Privolzhsky district of Kazan. The lesson about nature was conducted by Yulia Saferova, the leading specialist of the department of environmental education and interaction with public organizations of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with representatives of the youth organization Young Guard of the party United Russia.
The Day of Environmental Education is celebrated annually on May 12 in Russia and the CIS countries. The main goal of the holiday is the actualization of environmental knowledge in all sciences and all fields of human activity.
The ecological holiday is directly related to every inhabitant of the Earth, since the planet is a home for people, regardless of age, nationality, and life status. The Day of Environmental Education encourages people to think about how to protect the environment and prevent its catastrophe.

Results of the final stage of the All-Russian Ecology Olympiad of 2017 among students of 9-11 grades were summed up in the University of Industrial Technology and Design, St. Petersburg. This year teams from 64 regions of the Russian Federation took part in it. Samples of melt water in locations of unauthorized snow dumps detected in winter, were selected by specialists of the Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control (CSIAC) of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. This time the analyzes were carried out on three sites: on the territory of the industrial facility on the Technicheskaya str. of Kazan, between the Zakieva and Minskaya streets (near the river Noxa), and in the Aviastroitelny district, north-east of 141 on the Centralno-Mariupolskaya street (near the river Sukhaya).
