On May 18, within the framework of the VII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, a round table “Law on Subsoil – 25 Years of Development: Results and Prospects” will be held. The event was organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation in conjunction with the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use. The round table is timed to the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Law of the Russian Federation “On Subsoil”.

Tetyush Kindergarten “Skazka” claims their fifth Green Flag. In the preschool center, the VII All-Russian Festival of Pedagogical Ideas of an Environmental Focus was held today within the framework of the International Program “Eco-Schools/Green Flag”. Children demonstrated their ecological knowledge, showed ECO fashion, and performed for the jury a tale “Clogging the environment”. Within the framework of the festival, a round table was held. Presentations were made by representatives of Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Kaliningrad region and the city of Petrozavodsk.

School students of grades 5-10 who are interested in ecology and biology will be able to deepen their knowledge in this fieldduring the summer holidays (May 29 - June 9). ECO-classes will be held in the City children’s ecological and biological center of Kazan under the urban workshop “School of young ecologist”.

The program “School of young ecologist” covers the following directions: botany, zoology, generalecology, project activities, and consists of two sections:

To strengthen the work to eliminate identified landfills. This task is facing municipalities today. As of May 15, more than 85% of the unauthorized waste disposal sites identified by state inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and other environmental authorities have been removed. Another violation was discovered today by ecologists during the helicopter flight. A resident of the Kamsko-Ustinsky district of Tatarstan discharged garbage into the field.

Over the years, from May 15 to June 15 in Russia environmental actions are held, under the motto “United days of protection of small rivers and reservoirs” The initiator of this environmental action was the Network of Russian Rivers - a voluntary association founded on the initiative of the Volga social movement “Let’s help the river”. The organization includes more than 100 public environmental organizations from 23 regions of Russia.

Kazanka, Mesha, Shoshma, Atninka, Ashit. A number of enterprises in the Northern region of Tatarstan discharge into these rivers. The inspectors of the Northern Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan regularly monitor and check the water quality. Last year, within the framework of environmental monitoring, the specialists of the Ministry of Ecology Laboratory revealed a number of violations. In the sampling of sewage samples, excesses of a number of components were detected: ammonium ion, nitrite ion, phosphate ion, manganese, and others.

A metal fence restricting free access to the Shilna river bank was demolished in the Tukaev District of the Republic of Tatarstan. Earlier, the inspectors of the Prikamsky Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan compiled a protocol under Article 8.12.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (“Non-compliance with the provision of free access of citizens to a public water body and its coastal strip”).

The Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Sergey Donskoy, sent a telegram to the heads of the regions with a proposal to set up hazardous waste collection points near the buildings of the regional authorities for the purpose of implementing paragraph 46 of the plan of key measures to hold the Year of the Ecology in 2017 in the Russian Federation, as reported on the website of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.
