Visitors to the Republican Special Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired are actively learning the book “The Ecological Guide to the Green Corners of the Republic of Tatarstan”. As the library director Nail’ Safargaleev noted, the new edition of regional studies has become a real gift for curious readers, as children study the Tatarstan nature with high interest.

Today Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev got acquainted with the course of work on the overhaul of the hydraulic structure in the village of Morty, which was found in an emergency condition, and the work on cleaning and channeling on the Tanaika River near the village Kolosovka of Elabuga municipal district. Socially significant facilities, gas pipeline, power lines, roads – all this during the spring flood can appear under water.

To clean the reservoir of debris and draw public attention to environmental issues. With this purpose, an environmental action was held today in the village of Yudino on Lake Izumrudnoye. The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in Tatarstan. All those who came to support the environmental action received gloves and garbage bags. Among the activists there are members of the environmental movement “Budetchisto”, the All-Russia People's Front, the volunteer environmental staff, and the indifferent citizens of the republic.

Sanitary and ecological inspection along the banks of the river Ik was carried out by the residents of the village of Kzyl-Yar of the Bavly district and specialists of the Priiksky territorial administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. They cleaned the territory of dead wood, plastic and glass bottles, and other waste. The total volume of collected garbage was 550 m3. “The Ik River is a transboundary river.

A large-scale environmental campaign will be held on August 4 in the village of Yudino on lake Izumrudnoye. Banks, beach area and the bottom of the lake up to 5 000 sq.m. will be cleaned of debris. The event is held by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in Tatarstan.

For the fourth time, the Goethe-Institute announced a contest among schoolchildren “School for Ecology: think, explore, act!”, aiming to draw the attention of schoolchildren to environmental problems. Teams of students from the 7th to 11th grades, as well as their German teachers and subject teachers (biology, ecology, geography, chemistry, physics) are invited to participate. Together with the teachers, schoolchildren should explore the ecological situation in their city (village), on their street, in their school and offer ideas aimed at improving the environmental situation and attracting the public attention to it. Environmental projects must be uploaded to the contest website before November 1, 2017.

A complaint on the terrible smell of sewage was received today in the Zakamsk Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. Residents called the hotline and reported that “it's impossible to breathe” on the territory of the Nizhekamsk base of construction inductry. To find out the reasons, the state inspectors and specialists of the Ministry of Ecology Laboratory visited the site. Upon inspection, a sewage pipe was found. Household waste was discharged directly to the soil.

Today in Tatarstan a new project “Green Recycling” started. It is implemented by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic in the framework of the Year of Ecology in Russia and the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces in Tatarstan. Its goal is to attract the people’s attention to the preservation of natural resources in the Republic of Tatarstan. “We want to show how secondary raw materials can be re-used, thereby reducing the load on landfills of solid domestic waste,” said Almir Almiyev, head of the Information and Analytical Department of the Ministry of Ecology.
