18 January 2022, Tuesday

"Thanks to preventive measures, we note an annual decrease in the number of detected violations. In 2021, the agency compiled 4078 protocols, imposed fines and damages totaling more than 84 million rubles. 43 materials were sent to law enforcement agencies on the facts of environmental damage, on the basis of which 22 criminal cases were initiated," the minister said. He also noted the work of the legal support staff of the Ministry: "Despite the complexity and heterogeneity of court cases, they actively defend the position of the department. In 898 court cases, 75% were accepted in our favor."

As part of the report, the head of the department said that the main indicator of the effectiveness of the results of supervision is feedback from the population. The Ministry's communication channels and tools are constantly being expanded and refined for the convenience of citizens. Today, they allow not only to accept a complaint, but also have the function of an assistant when filling out an application. Over the past year, the Ministry received 6284 appeals.

The greatest concern among the population is caused by violations with waste; however, thanks to the supervisory measures of the past years and measures to eliminate the identified violations, the number of complaints in this area is decreasing. The Minister recalled that administrative, civil and criminal liability measures are provided for violations of the Law. In 2021, 4,078 protocols were drawn up, fines and damages totaling more than 84 million rubles were imposed. 43 materials were sent to law enforcement agencies on the facts of environmental damage, on the basis of which 22 criminal cases were initiated. Alexander Shadrikov also said that one of the tasks of 2022 is the digitalization of the industry, which ultimately should ensure the automation and modernization of state environmental supervision and eliminate corruption risks, making the activities of the Ministry even more open.
