Today it is the All-Russian Day of Tree Planting. The campaign was held at all the cities and districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan planted pines on the territory adjacent to Goluboe Lake near Kadyshevo village. Today, fellow workers of the Ministry planted more than 100 young plants. Annual campaign is held in order to foster careful attitude to forest.

The spontaneous unauthorized waste dump in the Mirny settlement was liquidated today by efforts of the Administration of Cis-Volga and Vakhitovo districts of the city of Kazan. Rubbish heaps were found on the road near the bifurcation: the Mirny settlement – the Davlikeevo settlement - the Birchwood. The territory was fenced; however, it did not keep violators from breaking the law. Columns were dug up, and unauthorized waste dumping went growing.

On May 15, inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan organized a press raid to horticultural societies of the Soviet district. Inspectors of the Ministry recorded a number of violations related to the violation of environmental legislation as well as improvements regulations. The fine for containers and concreted platforms absence amounting to 15 thousand rubles will be imposed on the Chairman of the “Vishenka” horticultural society.

Pete Wood, the Chairman of the Commission on Ecosystems Management of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and Kalev Sepp, a professor of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, visited the Kazan Federal University. Guests were accompanied by the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Artem Sidorov. The meeting with the staff of the University and a visit to the zoological museum was organized for guests. Then the lecture on the “Ecosystems Development. World Experience” took place. Pete Wood, the Chairman of the Commission on Ecosystems Management of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and Kalev Sepp, a professor of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, made their reports to the tutors and students of the university.
The Prime Minister for Tatarstan Ildar Halikov met with Pete Wood, the Chairman of the Commission for Ecosystems Management of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and Kalev Sepp, a professor of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, Conservation and Management of natural and cultural landscapes and natural heritage. Artem Sidorov, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as Nail Magdeev, the Minister for Forestry of the republic, also took part in the meeting in the House of the Government of Tatarstan.
Within the framework of the Year of environmental culture and protection and the Day of environmental education, listeners of the Young Ecologist School of lyceum No. 5 of the city of Kazan and their parents visited Volga-Kama National Biosphere Reserve. Environmentally educating excursion was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Today, State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiyevmet with Piet Wit, Chairman of the Commission on Ecosystem Management under the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and Kalev Sepp, Professor of the Estonian University of Social Sciences, Preservation and Management of Natural and Cultural Landscapes and Natural Heritage.

The ecological two-month campaign keeps going. Today meeting of new inspectors of territorial administrations of the Republic which arrived in Kazan for sanitary and ecological supervision intensification took place at the building of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. Inspectors will reveal violators of environmental legislation as well as make an inventory of sites of unauthorized waste placement.

Piet Wit, International Union for Conservation of Nature Commission Chairman, and Kalev Sepp, Professor of the Estonian University of Social Sciences, Preservation and Management of Natural and Cultural Landscapes and Natural Heritage arrived on Sunday in Kazan.
On May 18, the All-Russian Day of forest planting will take place in the framework of the Year for Environment-oriented Culture and Nature Protection. The campaign is aimed at promotion of careful attitude towards forest. The events regarding forest planting will beheld in every city and district of the Republic of Tatarstan. Fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan will plant trees on the territory of Goluboe Lake near Kadyshevo village.
