Rating and methods of evaluation were elaborated subject to the orders of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and they comply with the world analogs and criteria of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Methodology for ecological rating preparation was elaborated for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation by Ernst & Young.

Today, both in Tatarstan and all around the country we celebrate the Day of Environmental specialist – the holiday of nature defenders, professionals and enthusiasts, all those who make their strong contribution into the noble cause of environment protection and recovery.
Paramount importance of this Day of Environmental specialist is enhanced by the fact that the holiday is celebrated in the framework of the Year of Ecology in Russia and the Year of Environmental Culture and Nature Protection in the Republic of Tatarstan. It is gratifying that environmental movement has become wide-scale lately receiving top-priority support on the highest political level.
Another environmental raid for journalists was organized today by the employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan. The inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources have examined the territories of garage cooperatives in Kirovsky district to find a number of breaches. Particularly, the garage cooperative № 6 has come to the top for illegal dumping of construction and household wastes by the shore line of the old course of Kazanka river with the purpose of extending territory.
