The President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the citizens of the Republic of Tatarstan on the Day of Environmental specialist

“Dear citizens of Tatarstan!
Today, both in Tatarstan and all around the country we celebrate the Day of Environmental specialist – the holiday of nature defenders, professionals and enthusiasts, all those who make their strong contribution into the noble cause of environment protection and recovery.
Paramount importance of this Day of Environmental specialist is enhanced by the fact that the holiday is celebrated in the framework of the Year of Ecology in Russia and the Year of Environmental Culture and Nature Protection in the Republic of Tatarstan. It is gratifying that environmental movement has become wide-scale lately receiving top-priority support on the highest political level.
In our republic greater attention is traditionally paid to nature protection, environmental education, enhancement of ecological safety in production industry, as well as the issues of energy and resources efficiency.
The republican purpose-oriented program “Environmental Safety of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2013 to 2015” has been launched and now it is being successfully realized. The program includes more than one hundred campaigns focused on both improvement of air, water, and land resources quality and development of the system of production and consumption waste management.
Large production enterprises channeling considerable funds for environmental measures, scientific communities, higher educational and academic institutions of the republic, municipal authorities providing a sanitary and ecological order in place, social green streams as well as numerous activists have joined the program.
It’s just a month left before the beginning of the XXVII World Summer Universiade – a tremendous holiday of youth and sports that without doubt will leave an indelible impression on citizens and guests of our capital. I hope we’ll remember not only outstanding victories, greatness of new sports objects, and culture monuments, but also cleanness of streets, greens of parks and squares”, says the congratulation of the President of Tatarstan.
