Coast protection structure opening

Today, there was a solemn opening of a coast protection structure at the right bank of the Kuybyshev Reservoir in Rybnaya Sloboda. Citizens of the district were greeted by the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov. During his speech he reported that coast protection problem solving is a rather relevant matter for the Republic of Tatarstan. Our republic is the most high-water constituent entity of the Russian Federation in the Volga-Kama basin. Total area of water surface in the Republic of Tatarstan amounts to approximately 7% of its total area. The largest rivers located on the territory of the Republic are the sources of stable and continuous water supply, but at the same time they are the facilities having negative impact on the coastal belt. The Minister emphasized that 14 municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan are in the area of active influence of water facilities. There are reliable coast protection structures in Rybnaya Sloboda and Mamadysh. It became possible due to the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov. As it was noted by Artem Sidorov, citizens of Rybnaya Sloboda, as well as all the citizens of the Republic who like visiting picturesque places, got a fabulous quay as a present, and it will become a visiting card of the district and the area of hospitality of Rybnaya Sloboda.

The Head of Rybnaya Sloboda Municipal District Ilkham Valeev thanked the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan for the work done.

The event was held at the World Environment Day. The ceremony was followed by a concert and boat tours at the riverside.
