In the framework of the Year of environmental culture and environmental protection in Tatarstan and European Parks Day traditionally celebrated on 24 May, the presenation of Kazan Gardens and Parks catalogue was held in the interior garden of the National Museum of Tatarstan. The event was attended by the employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan.
On the threshold of the FISU Universiade, in an effort to revive the traditions of urban landscaping, 100 Public Gardens and Green Record projects are being implemented with the support of the city coucil. Many public gardens and green spaces around residential houses have already been improved and thousands of trees have been planted under these projects.
National Museum of Tatarstan have also made their contribution to preservation of traditions and general improvement. In 2011 their project, Kazan Gardens and Parks became the prizewinner in the Ecology category of the 2nd contest of social and cultural projects of RITEK oil company in Tatarstan. A catalogue of unique photos depicting sights of Kazan gardens and parks of the late XIX - XX centuries have ben prepared under the project.
This publication will allow Kazan residents and visitors to get familiar with city's natural-historic heritage. The catalogue features information on gardens and parks including more than 200 photos, many being made public for the first time.
Museum's mini-park have been laid out during the event. More than 100 transplanted trees and bushes were provided by the Ministry of Forestry of Tatarstan.
Inspectors of the Central Department, together with representatives of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a survey of the territory of the Zelenodolsk district.
The events were held in the Zainsky district. The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about violations of environmental legislation in the Yelabuga district. Inspectors from the Kama Department went to the site and confirmed the fact of dumping production and consumption waste into the territory of the Bug River water protection zone.
