Today, at a press conference at the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications Tatmedia, Deputy Minister of Ecology Egor Tarnavsky spoke about the implementation of the federal project "Conservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology". Since 2021, work has been carried out in Tatarstan to clear four water bodies with a length of 21.5 km in the amount of 281.2 million rubles.
In the Laishevsky district, this is a pond in the village of Derzhavino and the right tributary of the Mesha River near the village of Nikolskoye. In Mamadyshsky district, it is a tributary of the Vyatka River in Mamadysh and the bed of the Bersut River near the village of Kamsky Forestry. All four sites have historical significance for the republic. As a result of the ecorehabilitation measures, springs were clogged again in the pond near the village of Derzhavino and on the Bersut River. In general, thanks to the project "Preservation of unique water bodies", the environmental conditions for the residence of about 20 thousand people have been improved.
"First of all, this federal project is aimed at preserving the uniqueness of those territories where water bodies are located. This is a relationship with the social direction, with favorable conditions for our residents. Therefore, these objects were defined. They were justified by Rosvodresursy and successfully completed," said Deputy Minister Egor Tarnavsky.
Volunteers also take an active part in cleaning the shores. So, in 2019-2023, over a million activists participated in the events, more than 30 thousand km of coastlines were cleared. For the third year in a row, the Republic of Tatarstan occupies the 1st place in the federal campaign "Water of Russia". During the period April - October 2024, more than 355.4 thousand volunteers took part in coastal cleanup activities, and about 10.4 thousand km of coastlines were cleaned.
