Inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology inspected 992 vehicles together with the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the interregional territorial Directorate of Rostransnadzor for the Volga Federal District as part of Operation Clean Air, which started on June 1 and will last until September 30. The main purpose of the operation is to prevent the negative impact of vehicles on the state of atmospheric air.
During the month, 992 vehicles were inspected – 757 passenger cars, 127 trucks and 108 buses. The excess was detected in 32 vehicles, which is 3.2% of the total number of checked vehicles. Inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology conducted explanatory work with the owners of vehicles where violations were detected on the inadmissibility of violations of air protection legislation.
It is worth noting that Operation Clean Air has been carried out in Tatarstan annually since 1983. In 2024, "Clean Air" is already being held for the 42nd time and this year inspectors plan to check the purity of exhaust gases of more than 6 thousand cars.
Let us recall that in 2023, 6886 vehicles were checked (87% passenger cars, 7% trucks, 6% buses; 81% gasoline, 13% diesel, 6% gas-powered). Excess toxicity standards were detected in 184 vehicles, which amounted to 2.7% of the total number of vehicles tested.
