The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan implements the state policy in the field of environmental protection

MISSION

The basic mission of the Ministry within its authority includes the following:

ensuring realization of the right of citizens to a favorable environment;

environmental safety;

prevention of negative impact of economic and other activities on the environment;

formation and implementation of environmental programs and projects;

management of state subsoil fund  within its authority.

FUNCTIONS

The Ministry is responsible for implementation of the following main functions:

natural resources management, environmental protection, including:

management in the field of air protection;

provision of radiation safety in the prescribed manner;

control in the prescribed manner of the radiation situation in the Republic of Tatarstan;

regulation of relations of subsoil use, including:

participation together with the Russian Federation at the disposal of a single state subsoil fund in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan;

management of study, use and reproduction of mineral resource base;

regulation of relations in the field of use of subsoil areas of local importance;

organization in due manner of state examination of mineral reserves, geological, economic and environmental information about the subsoil resources of local importance provided for use;

management of exploration and geodetic activities in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan;

regional state environmental supervision when conducting economic and other activities, with the exception of activities using facilities subject to federal state environmental supervision, in the following areas:

regional state supervision in the field of water bodies use and protection, with the exception of water bodies subject to federal state supervision, as well as observance of special conditions of water use and use of coastal areas (including sections adjacent to hydropower facilities) within the protected areas of hydropower facilities, located on water bodies subject to regional state supervision over their use and protection;

regional state supervision in the field of protection of atmospheric air at facilities of economic and other activities subject to regional state environmental supervision;

regional state supervision in the field of waste management at facilities of economic and other activities subject to regional state environmental supervision;

regional state supervision of geological study, rational use and protection of subsoil in relation to subsoil plots of local importance;

regional state environmental supervision of wastewater discharges through a centralized wastewater system.
