Alexander Shadrikov:"We have learned how to structure problems in order to solve them systematically. We are not afraid to take responsibility for the implementation of any pilot project that will benefit the residents of our republic"

The best projects implemented by the regions for the construction and modernization of wastewater treatment plants in the Volga River basin with an analysis of the possibility of replicating the technologies and solutions used in them were presented today in Kazan as part of a seminar-meeting. Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov spoke about the republic's integrated approach to solving environmental issues, in particular issues related to the improvement of the Volga River.

The largest treatment facilities in Tatarstan are biological treatment facilities in Kazan. They are among the top 200 main pollutants of the Volga. Their reconstruction will reduce the negative impact on 1.3 million residents of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, said Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov.   "We use an integrated approach. Reconstruction of sewage treatment plants would be impossible without solving issues with the reclamation of silt fields. In turn, when we started designing for reclamation, we needed to stop the operation of silt fields. The solution was the construction of a workshop for thermomechanical treatment of sludge. This allowed us to close the work of the silt fields and proceed to work out the issue of their reclamation."

Let us recall that the recultivation of silt fields has been underway since 2021 and will be completed in 2024 as part of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga".

The Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan stressed that during the implementation of the project of recultivation of silt fields in close cooperation with science, more than 36 world technologies were studied in order to develop the most effective work strategy. Now work is underway at the facility, the seminar participants will evaluate the pilot project personally – tomorrow a trip to the silt fields and an exchange of experience is planned for possible replication of technologies used in reclamation.

Alexander Shadrikov also spoke about other events within the framework of the national project "Ecology". Another pilot project has been completed in Tatarstan this year – the dismantling of the inactive pipeline of the Ozernoye oil field. The dismantling is fully completed, 23.7 km of pipes have been raised. The cost of implementation amounted to 930.5 million rubles. "Interaction is very important. The dialogue between government and society, business and science is important. We have learned how to structure problems in order to solve them systematically. We are not afraid to take responsibility for the implementation of any pilot project that will benefit the residents of our republic. During her visit to Tatarstan, Victoria Valeryevna Abramchenko also spoke about this. She noted that during the reconstruction of sewage treatment plants, Tatarstan has comprehensively approached the problem and such experience needs to be replicated. Therefore, today we have just gathered to exchange experience with other regions of Russia." – said the Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.

He added that Tatarstan, having already had experience of working within the framework of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga", will propose to introduce measures for further modernization of treatment facilities already in the new project of improvement of water bodies initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The project is planned to be implemented from 2025.

"The President of our country, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, has repeatedly noted that the main thing is the health and quality of life of our people. Everything we do is for the benefit of our residents. The efforts of every level and branch of government, business, science and the public should be subordinated to this task.

I am sure that Tatarstan's experience in the context of an integrated approach to solving the problems of protecting water bodies will be in demand and interesting to other regions of the country," Alexander Shadrikov concluded his speech.
