More than 700 Tatarstan citizens took part in the Central clean-up in Russian-German Switzerland today

The clean-up was held in the format of "Clean Games", 154 teams took part. Employees of departments, representatives of public organizations, students and concerned citizens cleaned up and were charged with positive emotions on the territory of the nature monument of regional significance "Russian-German Switzerland". All participants were expected at the "Green Charge" from the very morning, in addition, the organizers prepared interactive, master classes and eco-lessons in the fresh air for Kazan residents.

The clean-up day started at 10 am, each team of "Clean Games" has 3-4 people.  For an hour and a half, the teams sorted the garbage found by fractions, for which they received points in a special application. Together, 733 bags of garbage were collected, including 240 bags of plastic, 188 bags of glass, 82 bags of metal.

All this will be sent for further processing.  

"We chose the territory of Russian-German Switzerland precisely at the request of the residents of Kazan. More than once applications have come that there is a lot of garbage here. And we see today how actively Kazan residents responded, how many residents came to our clean-up – this suggests that those who are here with us today, they care about the fate of the environment. Every year there are more and more participants in our campaigns, and today we say words of great gratitude to all of them. Clean-ups are taking place all over Tatarstan today, which means that ecology really unites," said Ecology Minister Alexander Shadrikov." The participants of the campaign were also welcomed today by Fayaz Shakirov, Head of the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Management, Azat Ziganshin, Head of the Tatarstan Branch of the Russian Ecological Society, Igor Kulyazhev, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, Mikhail Shinkarev, Deputy Head of the Volga-Kama Territorial Department of Rosrybolovstvo, Dmitry Shiller, Chairman of the Russian Geographical societies in the Republic of Tatarstan and others.

In parallel with the "Clean Games", RGO divers organized a clean-up day under water and cleaned the underwater part of the Kazanka River, Rosrybolovstvo employees joined in cleaning the water area and lifted 27 fishing nets from the bottom. Also today, residents of Kazan, within the framework of the federal environmental program "School of Recycling: Electronics", were able to hand over used electrical equipment for recycling.

And the team members and all residents of the city could eat in the field kitchen. The winning teams received diplomas and gifts. According to the results of the clean-up, 5,359 kilograms of garbage were collected.

After the award ceremony, Alexander Shadrikov, Fayaz Shakirov, Igor Kulyazhev and other participants and guests of the ecological holiday planted ash, poplars and rowan trees. In total, 30 trees were planted in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Ministry of Ecology.

Let us recall that the clean-up was held within the framework of the sanitary and ecological two-month and the contest "Eco-Spring-2023".
All territorial departments of the Ministry of Ecology have joined the mass cleaning today.

Russian-German Switzerland is a natural monument of regional significance, an ecological park included in the draft Strategy for the development of Kazanka. The territory combines several types of ecosystems, flood and mixed grass meadows, wetlands, where many rare plants, red-book and atypical species of birds and insects live.
