Environmentalists went to the complaints of residents of Naberezhnye Chelny to check the air quality
The Kama Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received a complaint from residents of Avtograd. Residents of Naberezhnye Chelny complained of an unpleasant chemical smell at night in the area of the 29 complex. To assess the air quality, inspectors of the Prikamsky TA together with a mobile environmental laboratory went to the site. Sampling was carried out both during the day and at night at 4 points: on Mira Avenue st., as well as Vakhitov, Moskovsky and Avtozavodsky Avenues. According to the results of the analysis of samples, no exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations of pollutants in the air were detected. According to environmentalists, during the periods indicated in the appeal, the east and south-east wind direction prevailed, and therefore the probable source of the unpleasant smell is located in the area of the Construction Base and Industrial Zone, including garage companies that have production departments and workshops.
In the course of control (supervisory) measures without interaction with a legal entity, a number of violations were revealed at enterprises located on the territory of the Construction Base and Industrial Zone: an inventory of sources was not carried out at enterprises with emission sources, the obligation to register objects with a negative impact on the environment was not fulfilled, and capture installations were also not used and neutralization of pollutants released into the atmospheric air and plans to reduce emissions under adverse meteorological conditions have not been developed and agreed upon in accordance with the established procedure. Violators were issued warnings about the inadmissibility of violating mandatory requirements of environmental legislation.
