BoomBattle has set a record for waste paper collection - participants of the fifth season of the All-Russian campaign collected 144 thousand tons of paper waste, which is 1.5 times more than last year. Participants from the Republic of Tatarstan handed over more than 179 tons of waste paper for recycling. The region took the sixth place in the overall ranking of the country's subjects.
The paper was handed over by schoolchildren, students, volunteers, employees of public and private enterprises – a variety of activists showed concern for the environment. Families made a great contribution to the "paper battle" – "BoomBattle" was supported by more than 4.7 thousand families of the country. Together, the participants collected 49 thousand tons of waste paper more than in 2023.
Tatarstan took the first and third places on the general podium among preschool institutions. Children and caregivers have been collecting paper and cardboard for recycling for a month and a half. According to the results of the campaign, the first place was taken by the Mamadysh kindergarten No. 5 "Belekech". 56 participants were able to collect and recycle 6.7 tons of waste paper. The bronze medal was earned by pupils of kindergarten No. 28 "Skazka" from Kazan: 35 kids took part in the campaign.
In support of BoomBattle, activists of the Ecosystem Movement held more than 700 interactive educational events throughout Russia. Eco-lessons, master classes, paper festivals and excursions to waste sorting and recycling facilities – volunteers introduced the principles of closed-loop economics to participants of various ages and professions.
Let us recall that the All-Russian campaign to collect waste paper "BoomBattle" was held for the fifth year in a row in support of the national project "Ecology". More than 3 million people from 89 regions of the country took part in the large-scale initiative. Since 2023, the All-Russian Public Environmental Movement "Ecosystem" has been the co-organizer of the project. Over the entire time of the BoomBattle, more than 8.9 million people took part in it, who collected more than 305 thousand tons of waste paper.
