20 January 2023, Friday

In the new Bashir Rameyev IT Park today, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported on the work done over the year. Among those invited to the final report are Chief Federal Inspector for the Republic of Tatarstan Viktor Demidov, Head of the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor Fayaz Shakirov, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan Saria Saburskaya, Deputy Volga Interregional Environmental Prosecutor Alexander Gonchar and others. Even before the beginning of the board, new textbooks were presented to the guests – the fruit of the joint work of the Ministry of Ecology and Tatarmultfilm. Textbooks on ecology were published thanks to the support of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov. An automated plant for cleaning and disinfection of drinking, cooling and waste water was also presented at the exhibition. A pilot plant in Tatarstan will be introduced at the Yelabuga water utility located on the territory of the Alabuga SEZ for the preparation of drinking water.

The Board was opened by the report of the head of the environmental protection Department Alexander Shadrikov. At the very beginning of his speech, the Minister of Ecology outlined the main vector and tasks of the Ministry – this is work here and now for the future generation.

"The environmental agenda is becoming more and more relevant among the population. This is confirmed by the result of a sociological survey. We held it at the end of 2022. More than 81% of respondents are interested in environmental issues. According to the results of the survey, we saw what problems have been solved and what remains to be done," the minister said. Alexander Shadrikov briefly dwelt on major projects that are currently being implemented in Tatarstan – this is the reclamation of the silt fields of BOSK Kazan, the Samosyrovsky landfill, the dismantling of pipes of the Lake oil field. These works are carried out within the framework of the national project "Ecology". Environmental measures are also invested at the expense of the Republic's budget. In 2022, more than a billion rubles have been allocated. In addition, a number of activities are carried out by means of "green money". "This program has been working in Tatarstan since 2012 thanks to the support of the President of the Republic Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov. In 2022, 253 million were allocated for these purposes. Since September 1 last year, such a system of financing environmental measures has been mandatory for all subjects of Russia," Alexander Shadrikov emphasized the attention of the heads of Executive Committees.

There are 311 licenses for the extraction of OPI on the territory of the republic. By the end of 2022, the increase in stocks of inert materials amounted to more than 116 million cubic meters. The Ministry carried out comprehensive work to provide construction sites of Tatarstan with inert materials, taking into account their needs. However, despite the work done, subsoil users are in no hurry to follow the legal path. The Minister outlined a problem - some contractors do not disclose information about their suppliers, which may contribute to the illegal extraction of non-metallic materials.

The Ministry in its work now continues to focus on the prevention and suppression of violations. As a result, over the past 5 years, the number of violations that were not eliminated voluntarily has decreased by almost 4 times and amounted to 1,632 such cases in 2022.

The board also heard reports by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Oleg Sinyashin and Director of the State Unitary Enterprise "NPO Geocenter RT" Mars Valiev. Summing up the work of the department, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nigmatullin thanked the staff of the Ministry for the good work, noting that the President of Tatarstan always pays the closest attention to environmental issues. "The work of the Ministry of Ecology on the territory of the Nizhnekamsk industrial hub in the format of an interdepartmental working group has shown its effectiveness. Serious scientific resources have been attracted. In 2022, an Agreement was signed on cooperation with the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on global environmental problems... The work of the Ministry of Ecology was also noticeable at the federal level. This is the 1st place in the All-Russian campaign for cleaning reservoirs and shores "Water of Russia", the victory in the All-Russian competition "Reliable Partner - Ecology" - all this once again confirms the high level of work of the department," summed up the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan. He wished the team further success and professional achievements.
