This year, Tatarstan residents have cleaned about 14 thousand km of coastal territory and collected 34 thousand cubic meters of garbage within the framework of the "Water of Russia" campaign. 455,434 people took part in these environmental activities. Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan Egor Tarnavsky told reporters about this at a press conference today.
He noted that measures to clean the shores and water bodies from household garbage and wood trash are carried out within the framework of the federal project "Preservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology". Volunteers, activists and residents of the republic take the most active part in clean-ups together with environmentalists. Yegor Tarnavsky thanked everyone who went out for general cleaning of the shores of reservoirs this year. "Tatarstan has a particularly reverent attitude to this campaign, more and more residents are joining such environmental volunteering. This is a simple truth: it's good where they don't litter. And we call on all residents to join the ranks of eco-activists"
