Today, the President of Tatarstan delivered his annual address to the State Council, according to the website of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
As the head of the republic noted, the most important component of comfortable living conditions is a favorable environment.
To date, a lot of work is being carried out in Tatarstan within the framework of the national project "Ecology" and republican programs. "Today there are serious tasks for the further construction of sewage treatment plants within the framework of the federal project "Improvement of the Volga", as well as the elimination of silt fields," Rustam Minnikhanov said.
He also emphasized that recently complaints about the quality of atmospheric air have been received from citizens, in particular near the Vostochny waste landfill in Kazan. In this direction, work has begun on the elimination of landfills near the village of Samosyrovo.
The President of the Republic of Tatarstan addressed the heads of all enterprises about the need to introduce advanced waste processing technologies to exclude the facts of harm to atmospheric air and water bodies and instructed law enforcement and supervisory authorities to take the issue under control.
In his speech, Rustam Nurgalievich drew attention to the topic of environmental education of the state. "There are many citizens in the republic who are not indifferent to environmental issues. They can rightfully be called heroes in the field of environmental protection. So, thanks to the efforts of the Rafikov family from the Aznakaevsky district, more than 200 hectares of forest plantations have already been planted around their village Irekle. Pyotr Ignatiev from the Almetyevsk district creates a recreation park with his own hands in his native village, carries out landscaping, shore protection and launching fish into the river. The guys from the public movement "It will be clean" make a significant contribution to the cause of environmental education. Of course, one needs to take an example from such people. They are in our hall today," the President of the Republic of Tatarstan greeted the eco-activists.
Ecology in the modern world is not only clean rivers, air and forests, the head of the region noted. He also added that this is a new challenge to the economy and a requirement of modernity.
During the address, Rustam Minnikhanov instructed the government, together with universities, the Academy of Sciences and enterprises, to prepare appropriate program proposals in connection with the planned introduction of an international carbon tax in 2026 – to develop a set of measures to reduce the carbon footprint, as well as to develop a circular economy involving an increase in the recycling of resources.
