Rustam Minnikhanov: "Careful attitude to the environment is the basis of people's well-being"
Today, the President of Tatarstan solemnly opened the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum, which started at the Kazan Expo exhibition complex, according to the website of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was also attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov.
Within the framework of the conference "The EU decision on decarbonization and a new paradigm for the development of the fuel and energy complex of Russia", the President of the Republic noted that a careful attitude to the environment is an indicator of the maturity of society and the basis of people's well-being. "All international companies in the oil and gas sector, under the threat of introducing cross - border carbon regulation, have adopted corporate programs and set specific goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and implement various compensating measures," said Rustam Minnikhanov. He also recalled that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined common tasks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create an emission monitoring system and implement climate projects.
During the conference, the participants discussed environmental and economic aspects of decarbonization of the oil and gas industry, innovative technologies in oil and gas production, problems of energy efficiency and reducing the carbon intensity of production processes.
As a reminder, the XVI All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference named after A. I. Shchepovskykh "Industrial Ecology and Safety" will be held here on September 1 as part of the TNF, which will be attended by specialists of federal and regional authorities, as well as representatives of scientific and engineering organizations from the regions of the Russian Federation related to solving problems in the field of environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, regulation and prevention of negative environmental consequences.
