6 August 2021, Friday

Today, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Yegor Tarnavsky and Deputy General Director of the Fund for Investment Development of Territories Ruslan Gadzhiev inspected biological treatment facilities in Kazan and in the village of Koshchakovo of the Pestrechinsky district. Let us recall that the objects are being implemented within the framework of the federal project "Improving the Volga" of the national project "Ecology".

To date, the largest project in the republic is the reconstruction of treatment facilities in Kazan. The volume of wastewater discharged into the Kuibyshev reservoir is 42%.  The total cost of work at the facility is more than 7 billion rubles. "Tatarstan actively participates in the implementation of the national project "Ecology", the federal project "Improvement of the Volga". To date, 13 treatment facilities have been included in the federal project.  Work has been completed at 11 treatment facilities, and work is continuing at two," Yegor Tarnavsky said.

Biological treatment facilities located in the village of Koshchakovo, Pestrechinsky district, are entering the final stage, the performance of work is 94%. The construction cost is about 120 million rubles, of which 81 % is from the federal budget.

"Projects for the construction and reconstruction of sewage treatment plants, along with the construction of a modern system for the treatment of solid waste should have the highest priority for the state. This is especially important for Tatarstan as one of the country's industrial leaders. I am sure that such projects should be provided not only with funding for implementation, but also with public control. Ultimately, all environmental measures are carried out with the aim of improving the quality of life of people, protecting health and ensuring longevity. It is extremely important to involve residents in the decision making process on projects related to the environmental agenda, to ensure a transparent process of informing people about the progress of work and to give people the opportunity to evaluate and monitor the results," Ruslan Hajiyev said.
