The results of the II Republican Contest "School eco-patrol" will be summarized on November 15th at the educational and laboratory building of the Volga State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism (35 Universiade Village). The solemn ceremony for awarding of winners will start at 11 am. Various contests, quizzes, the show "Amusing ecology", the technique of painting on water called Ebru and many other things will be organized for the participants of the contest and guests. An exhibition of things made from recyclable materials devoted to the Recycling Day will also be held. The "School eco-patrol" contest started in Tatarstan in 2014 on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. At that time, young ecological specialists sent 1,166 photo-messages to the inspectors of the Ministry of ecology on the sites of illegal waste placement. In 2015/2016 academic year, the results of the contest have exceeded last-year quantitative and qualitative figures by several times, and the amount of pupils who regularly participate in the contest has proportionally increased. More than 5,000 reports on violations of the nature protection legislation have been received by ecological specialists. Following the results of the first contest, the most active young ecological specialists "earned" bicycles, smart-phones, laptops, and interactive boards. Theseyear prizes are still a secret though. "This contest does not only mean the assistance of pupils to the supervisory authorities, but, first of all, it is designed to educate the young generation. We see that young people reach out for solution of environmental problems. For us, ecological education is one of the top-priority tasks", acknowledges the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev. - "It is nice that we already see the positive results of this contest, every year natural objects and places of public recreation become cleaner. It is children who set the right pace even for adults when it comes to behavior outdoors. Aspiration for cleanliness should be in the heart of everyone, and I believe that those children who send the photos of landfills and waste to us will never commit a crime against nature", thinks Farid Abdulganiev. The idea of the contest lies in the fact that every pupil who has a mobile phone can register landfills during leisure time and send the photos to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan through the filter of the call-center of the Ministry of Informatization and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan, where statistics will be formed for each pupil, each class, each school, and each municipality. Supervisory measures are implemented with regard to every landfill on the part of the nature protection authorities, and then the pupil is notified about the liquidation of the landfill with attachment of the relevant photo. An application based on iOS or Android is used as an information and technical platform for the contest to be able to send photos or video messages. Using this mobile application, a pupil will get a possibility to register for theContest using the available logins of profiles of pupils on the portal https://edu.tatar.ru/. Pupils of the forms 1-11 participate in the contest. Aims of the contest: -involvement of pupils of secondary institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan into practical work on improvement of the state of the environment; - popularization of the state and municipal services provided to the population in the electronic form; - fostering of the active attitude in pupils of educational institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan.
