The President Rustam Minnikhanov: “Without consistent work of ecological specialists, ecological surveillance, and rational natural resources use we will lose the competitive advantage of investment attractiveness of our Republic”
“In the Republic with developed industrial companies, great attention is paid to the ecological safety matters. The environment also holds a special place in the program Strategy – 2030”, acknowledged the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov during the joint meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage for the Republic of Tatarstan.
The event was held with participation of the Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage Artem Sidorov and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The results of work in 2015 were summarized during the meeting, and the tasks were set for the year 2016. All in all, the President took a favorable view of the work of nature protection authorities of Tatarstan acknowledging that correctly set priorities constitute a formula for successful work. Speaking of the tasks for the year 2016, Rustam Minnikhanov highlighted that Tatarstan is one of the most abounding in water regions of the Volga Federal District. That is why, in the context of the Year of Water Protection Areas it is especially important to pay due attention to the assurance of public access to the coastline. “Ecological surveillance bodies need to enhance the process of monitoring of legality of constructions in the coastline areas”, accentuated the President.
Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage Artem Sidorov acknowledged that a correct vector was plotted in Tatarstan with regard to the environment preservation. The new requirements of the nature protection legislation can be efficiently fulfilled only on condition of joint and concerted efforts of the nature protection authorities of the region. The Republic of Tatarstan can serve as an example to that. “Ecological safety of the region can be ensured only upon condition of concerted efforts”, highlighted Artem Sidorov.
In his report, the Minister for Ecology Farid Abdulganiev highlighted that owing to the ecologically oriented management, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan was included into the TOP 10 cities in the Russian Federation with regard to the ecological rating of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, and, according to the State Report, Nizhnekamsk was excluded from the list of cities with the highest air pollution level. “Our task is to ensure ecologically oriented economic growth, and a local system for the monitoring of the environmental state plays an important role here”, acknowledged the Minister Farid Abdulganiev highlighting joint work with such large companies as “Tatneft”, “TANEKO”, and “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” on elaboration of departmental systems for the monitoring of the state of the environment.
The main tasks set for the year 2016 by the Minister included implementation of the activities related to beautification and assurance of comfortable conditions to live near water facilities, modernization and reconstruction of water and wastewater treatment facilities of the Republic, enhancement of supervisory activities in the waste management field including inspections of landfills and waste sorting facilities, renewal of waste paper collection, and arrangement for collection of plastic packaging, primarily, through educational establishments.
Representatives of nature protection authorities of the Volga Federal District participated in the meeting together with representatives of the federal authorities, prosecution bodies, executive authorities of the units of the Volga Federal District, and heads of municipal units of the Republic of Tatarstan. An exhibition was organized in the framework of the event to present ecological elaborations of large companies, the systems for the monitoring of the environment along with information technologies, and the stands related to the ecological education in the Republic of Tatarstan
