Environmentalists told students of Naberezhnye Chelny about reasonable consumption

14 October 2025, Tuesday

An eco-lesson on waste recycling and reasonable consumption was held at secondary school No. 6 in Naberezhnye Chelny for 3rd grade students. The lesson was conducted by Yulia Markelova, an employee of the Prikamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with Oksana Ismagilova, a public environmental protection inspector.

The lesson began with a conversation about the problem of waste disposal in the modern world. The children were shown statistics: more than two billion tons of garbage are produced annually, most of which ends up in landfills, poisoning the soil, water and air.

The children were taught what recycling is and why it is important for the conservation of natural resources. Using the example of four main types of waste — paper, plastic, glass, and metal — students learned how things we are familiar with can gain a second life. We discussed with the children the stages of processing each type of material: from collection and purification to remelting and manufacturing new products. The students consolidated their theoretical knowledge with the help of a waste sorting game.

The lesson ended with a bright and useful master class from Oksana Ismagilova. She told the students how to creatively approach the disposal of glass waste, turning it into beautiful and useful things. The students independently assembled mosaic compositions in the shape of hearts from pre-cleaned and prepared glass. These original crafts have turned into cute key rings that third graders can use every day, remembering the importance of caring for the environment.

The organizers of the event called on students to continue monitoring the state of nature and to record environmental violations using the mobile application "I am a student" and the School Ecopatrol service.

It is important to note that such educational events help to form conscious behavior among the younger generation, contributing to the achievement of the goals of the national project "Environmental well-being".
