The next season of the All-Russian campaign on garbage removal from the shores of water bodies "Water of Russia" has ended, which became a record in terms of the length of cleared coastal territories and the volume of garbage collected. Without exaggeration, the socially significant volunteer initiative has become a significant social force contributing to the implementation of the national project "Ecology", the development of the eco-volunteer movement and the formation of ecological culture as a norm of life.
Participants and organizers of the campaign gathered at a special event dedicated to the results of the 2024 season, which was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation on Volunteer Day. Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Maxim Korolkov, Director of the Department of State Policy and Regulation in the field of water Resources and Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Tamirlan Adzhiev, as well as Director of the Analytical Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Dunaev welcomed the audience and expressed gratitude to all participants for their contribution to environmental protection.
In 2024, the campaign gathered about 1,550,000 volunteers from all over the country under its banners. Together, about 55,000 kilometers of coastline have been cleared, which significantly exceeds the length of the Earth's equator. In addition, the activists collected 118,000 cubic meters of waste, most of which was sent for recycling. In total, 28,252 events were organized within the framework of the campaign in all regions of Russia.
Over the past 11 years, the campaign has been supported by more than 11.5 million people who collected 12.3 million bags of garbage. It took about 103,000 KAMAZ trucks to export all this volume.
The Republic of Tatarstan has taken a special place in the final ranking of the regions participating in the campaign. In 2024, the region set three national records at once:
The record for the total length of the cleared shores is 10,413 kilometers.
The record for the volume of garbage collected is 16,584 cubic meters.
The largest number of cleanups carried out is 9,334 events.
These achievements indicate a high level of involvement of Tatarstan citizens in environmental issues. On Volunteer Day, we would like to express our special gratitude to our volunteers, our strength and support! Thank you for your active participation in the preparation and holding of our cleanups and campaigns. This is our common merit!
