Today, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on regulating the modes of operation of reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade was held

5 September 2024, Thursday

The meeting was attended by members of the working group, including representatives of the territorial bodies of Rosvodresursy, Rosrybolovstvo, Rosmorrechflot, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, Roshydromet, Rostechnadzor, JSC SO UES, PJSC RusHydro, JSC Tatenergo, and executive authorities of subjects located within the boundaries of the Volga-Kama the pool.

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov took part in the video conference meeting on behalf of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The operating modes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade were set for the period from September 11 to October 10.

Let us recall that according to the results of the previous meeting, for the period from August 11 to September 10, discharge costs were set at about 5,400 cubic meters/s.

According to the instructions of Rosvodresursy dated August 23, the operating mode of the Zhiguli hydroelectric complex was adjusted to increase discharge costs to 5900-6400 cubic meters /s. The adjustment was made in order to prevent overflow of the Kuibyshev reservoir.

As of September 5, the level of the Kuibyshev reservoir is 52.96 m BS in the upper reaches of the hydroelectric complex, 52.91 m BS in the Upper Uslon hydropost.

During the period from August 11 to September 5, the level of the Kuibyshev reservoir increased by 19 cm from 52.77 m BS to 52.96 m BS (in the upper reaches of the hydroelectric complex).

According to the calculations of Rosvodresursovy, at the expense of the Kuyshevsky reservoir hydroelectric power plant in the amount of 5 800 — 6 200 cubic meters per second, the level of the Kuibyshev reservoir will not drop below 52.0 mBS.

Taking into account the current water management and hydrological situation, the Ministry supported the modes of operation of hydroelectric reservoirs proposed by Rosvodresursy:

Kuibyshev: discharge costs: 5800 - 6200 cubic meters/s;

Nizhnekamsk: with the maintenance of the water level in the upper reaches of the hydroelectric dam at 63.0-63.75 m BS.

The modes of operation of hydroelectric reservoirs for the period from September 11 to October 10 will be published on the official website of Rosvodresursy.
