The federal project "Water of Russia" of the new national project "Environmental Well-being" has agreed to include two events from the Republic of Tatarstan. This was announced by the Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov at a press conference. This is the clearing of the channels of the Melekeski rivers in Naberezhnye Chelny and Noks with tributaries in Kazan.

"We divided the clearing of the Melekeska into 2 stages: the first one – 1.5 km to the backup - is considered federal property; after the backup, these are already the obligations of the subject," the head of the environmental protection agency explained. - The section up to the backup, which was within the framework of the "Preservation of unique water bodies", was included and implemented by Tsentrregionvodkhoz as part of its program. Now the second stage with a length of 3.1 km has already entered the Russian Water project."

The second object in the framework of the new federal project will be the Knoksa River. "To date, the design, obtaining expertise - everything has already been organized. At the expense of the negative impact on the environment, the design and estimate documentation was prepared by the Executive Committee of Kazan. We have agreed on the allocation of funds for this area, the cost of the project to clear the river and its tributaries with a total length of 27.9 km will amount to more than 700 million rubles. We divided it into stages so that we could close the stages within the framework of financing and, accordingly, the project would be more realized," said Alexander Shadrikov.

As part of the preparation of the project, lists of measures proposed for inclusion in the new project were also formed and sent from the Republic of Tatarstan: for the construction (reconstruction) of 17 sewage treatment plants and storm sewers in the amount of 18.3 billion rubles and environmental rehabilitation of 29 water bodies in the amount of 4.4 billion rubles.
