24 July 2024, Wednesday

An environmental campaign for the charitable release of sterlet juveniles was held in the village of Betki in the Tukayevsky district. The juveniles were delivered from the fish hatchery in the Nizhny Novgorod region using a special transport, the equipment of which allows maintaining the necessary conditions for the life support of fish in containers. Nizhnekamskneftekhim organized an environmental campaign to replenish biological resources.

200 thousand sterlet fry were released into the Nizhnekamsk reservoir. The commission of environmental specialists of the Volga–Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor and the Zakamsky Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan confirmed the satisfactory condition of the fry before release and compliance with all requirements for the conditions of its holding.

The environmental campaign aroused great interest among local residents. Together with the children, they joined the sterlet release. The guys watched with delight how the little fish splashed.

Let us recall that the sterlet of the Volga population is included in the Red Books of Russia and Tatarstan. The place for the release of fish is not determined by chance. The village of Betki in the Tukayevsky district has a good food supply and there are practically no predators, which will contribute to the rapid survival of fry in this area.
