Several appeals from citizens regarding the quality of atmospheric air in Naberezhnye Chelny were received by the Kama Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan last week. Residents of the settlements of HPP, ZYAB, Sidorovka, Komsomolsk district, in particular, complained about unpleasant odors.
In order to analyze and identify potential sources of pollution, a mobile environmental laboratory went to the site. The technical facility has equipment to determine carbon monoxide, ammonia, nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, benzene, toluene, chlorobenzene, ethylbenzene, xylene, styrene, phenol in the air. During the monitoring period from July 5 to July 8, no exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations of harmful substances were detected.
In addition, the city regularly monitors atmospheric air with the help of two automatic control stations along Tsentralnaya, 6 and 40 Let Pobedy, 64 streets. All data from the devices is promptly transmitted to the Ministry's specialists.
