The Kama region summed up the results and outlined the vector of further cooperation in the fight against landfills

To continue work on preventing illegal storage and promptly eliminate all previously identified landfills - issues of joint environmental protection activities were discussed today by environmentalists of the Kama region with the heads of the Executive Committees of Agryzsky, Aktanyshsky, Yelabuga, Mamadyshsky, Mendeleevsky, Menzelinsky, Tukayevsky districts, Naberezhnye Chelny, as well as the regional operator Grint.

During the meeting, Kamil Nazmiev, Head of the Kama Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, announced the results of the sanitary and environmental two-month period. He thanked the Executive Committees for their work on the elimination of landfills and landscaping. In total, 113 thousand people took part in the sanitary cleaning of the territories of the Kama zone, about 16.3 thousand cubic meters of waste were taken to landfills, more than 1,462 pieces of equipment were involved, almost 160 thousand trees and 42 thousand shrubs were planted. "Now it is necessary to pay special attention to the elimination of landfills according to the warnings issued during the inspection raids," Kamil Nazmiev stressed. As of today, according to the warnings of the Kama Management, 53 landfills have actually been eliminated.

Evgenia Fagimova, Director of the regional operator for the management of MSW in the eastern zone of the republic, drew attention to a number of problems that arise when removing waste from collection sites. She noted that there is a need to conduct explanatory work among the population with the involvement of the media to exclude the ingress of construction waste and plant residues to container sites.

During the working meeting, the participants also got acquainted with the production workshop for sorting municipal solid waste at Komunservice LLC.
