Tatarstan residents handed over more than 6 tons of batteries to the Kama Department of the Ministry of Ecology

A campaign to collect spent power sources was held in the Kama territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan. It was attended by pupils of schools and kindergartens of Agryzsky, Aktanyshsky, Yelabuga, Mamadyshsky, Mendeleevsky, Menzelinsky, Tukayevsky districts and the city of Naberezhnye Chelny. Aktanyshsky schoolchildren collected more than 630 kg of batteries, kids from kindergartens added another 114.4 kg to the piggy bank of the district. So the Aktanysh guys became leaders among the districts of the Kama region.

Young residents of Naberezhnye Chelny collected 4 tons 491 kg of batteries. 28 kids from kindergartens and 45 schoolchildren of the city joined the campaign. The students of Pushkin Lyceum No. 78 handed over 780 kg of used current sources. Kindergarten students No. 1 – 104 kg. From the Ministry of Ecology – letters of thanks to the winners and many thanks for caring about the environment.

"Batteries are a very valuable item, it contains up to 95% of useful materials. Therefore, we remind the guys every time that discharged batteries and accumulators cannot be disposed of in the usual way. Children annually collect accumulated current sources and bring them to their educational institutions, thereby making a great contribution to the ecology of the district and the city," said Leyla Galimova, a specialist at the Kama Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan.
