"The most active student", "The most active class", "The most active school", "The best municipal district" - a total of 80 winners. The best students of Tatarstan who identified the largest number of landfills within the framework of the republican competition "School Eco-patrol" and the winners of the battery collection campaign were awarded today at a solemn ceremony held at the V. P. Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory. The place was chosen for a reason - the upcoming year has been declared the Year of Scientific and Technological Development in Tatarstan. The children were told about such science as astronomy, about the history of Tatarstan astronomy and showed a film about the origin of the Universe. The award ceremony was attended by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov, Head of the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Ecological Society Azat Ziganshin, Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor Denis Alexandrov, head of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan Dmitry Shiller and head of the Regional Youth NGO "It will be Clean" Dilara Satikova.
Opening the special event, participants and guests were welcomed by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Tatarstan Alexander Shadrikov. He noted that 7,349 applications have been submitted to the competition this year, which is almost twice as many as last year. "This is a huge leap and great activity of our younger generation, and most importantly, it shows that the request for ecology and attention to nature today have a very important role for our residents. The best are gathered here, those in whom we believe, those in whom we see our future," said Alexander Shadrikov. "I myself once dreamed of learning how stars are born, and I want you to dream too, choose a profession with your heart." Alexander Shadrikov presented prizes and congratulated the most active schoolchildren, the most active classes and the best municipal district on their victory.
Dmitry Shiller, head of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan, also congratulated the winners of the competition: "As my mentor said, when you do big things, remember that you are not alone, people are behind you, because there are no good leaves without good roots. What we see here today is one big word "responsibility", it says one thing, that the world is moving into good strong hands."
It should be noted that the School Eco-patrol mobile application has been operating in the Republic of Tatarstan for 9 years now. The competition has been held since 2014 by the decision of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. During this time, more than 46 thousand messages about landfills have been received from students to environmentalists.
