Environmentalists promptly left on a complaint about the pollution of the Lekinka River in Arsk

10 November 2023, Friday

The hotline of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal about the pollution of the Lekinka River (the river is a tributary of the Kazank River) in the "Pitomnik" microdistrict of Arsk. The applicant filed a complaint about the discharge of untreated wastewater and an unpleasant odor that appears in the morning.
Inspectors of the Northern Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan promptly went to the place. During the survey of the territory, environmentalists found a pipe from which the discharge was carried out, in addition, it was recorded that the water in the river turned white. Since the only source of pollution in this area is Archa LLC, water samples were taken upstream of the river and at the wastewater discharge site. It is worth noting that last year the Lekinka River already got white. According to the results of the analysis of the sample, excesses in biological oxygen consumption (2.3 times), nitrite, ammonium ion, sulfate and iron were detected.
Since Archa LLC is subject to federal state environmental supervision, the information was sent to the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor to take administrative response measures. Also, information on this fact was sent to the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Arsky district to establish the owner of the pipe.
Let us recall that this is not the first such case when LLC "Archa" became the culprit of pollution of reservoirs. Two years ago, the company was brought to administrative responsibility for the discharge of wastewater into the Shoshma River of the Baltasinsky district. The amount of the fine was 80 thousand rubles. In addition, environmentalists calculated the damage in the amount of almost 6 million rubles. A settlement agreement was concluded. The company has modernized treatment facilities in the Baltasinsky district. LLC "Archa" fulfilled the settlement agreement, the quality of the discharged wastewater was brought to a normative state.
However, in July of this year, inspectors of the Northern Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan recorded a sewage spill already in the city of Arsk. Here, as a result of the breakthrough of the pipe of the Archa dairy plant, sewage spilled onto the soil. The area of contamination was 1400 sq.m. The information was transferred to the Volga-Kama Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor and the Tatar Environmental Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office, as well as to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Arsky district. In August, the prosecutor of the Tatar Environmental Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan Ayrat Nazmiev visited the Arsky district. A joint inspection was carried out. According to the results of the audit, a statement of claim was sent to the Arsky District Court. The Prosecutor's office demands to oblige the company "Archa" LLC to build local treatment facilities in the city of Arsk and to recultivate the disturbed lands with an area of 1400 sq.m.
