The earth is our common home. An environmental education lesson was held in the Cheremshansky district
Ecologists of the South-Eastern Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan told students of the 5th grade of the Cheremshansky Lyceum what ecology is and how to protect the surrounding world. At the eco–lesson, the inspectors explained to the children the meaning of the word ecology: "Ecology is the science of the relationship of living beings with each other and with the environment. The word itself was formed from two Greek words: "ekos" - it means "house", and "logos" - science. Therefore, we can say that ecology is the science of home, and for humanity, home is our entire planet Earth." In a playful way, the students discovered new habits and shared their ways of preserving the environment. "Every year in autumn we participate in tree planting campaigns. A couple of years ago we planted a spruce seed in a pot. Now it is already a Christmas tree and very soon we will transplant it into the open ground," said one of the fifth graders.
Specialists of the Ministry conduct such lessons regularly. They contribute to the achievement of the goals of the national project "Ecology", aimed at the development of environmental education, respect for the human environment.
