Last weekend, the first youth ecological festival "EcoFest" was held on the Kremlin Embankment of Kazan. 1.5 thousand Tatarstan citizens who are not indifferent to the ecology came to the festival to take part in the interactive. At the festival venues, participants were able to replenish their eco-knowledge by attending educational workshops, as well as recharge with positive energy by taking part in interactive games and competitions. Everyone who decided to devote this weekend to ecology was explained how to shop in stores and select materials for construction in an eco-friendly way. At the creative workshop, the guests were able to make their own custom clothes, sew a shopper and plant a plant.
The organizers of the festival are the Regional Youth Public Organization "It will be Clean" of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the administration of the Kremlin Embankment of Kazan. This project was implemented with a grant from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs "Rosmolodezh".
As noted by the ideological inspirer of the festival Taliya Zinatova (a volunteer of the RMOO "It will be clean"), this event should attract the attention of the population to the careful attitude to natural resources and reasonable consumption. "We tell residents about the problems related to ecology, the need to preserve the environment and the importance of environmental education. Our task is to change people's minds."
Thanks to the activists of the "It will Be Clean" movement, citizens were able to get rid of unnecessary clothes in an environmentally friendly way. Most of the items after processing will go for sale, and things that are not suitable for recycling as recyclables. Tatarstan residents were told how to prepare raw materials for delivery and where the recycling collection points and eco-products stores are located.
In addition, the participants of the campaign were explained how to pack an ecotourist's backpack, taught how to properly care for home plants. Residents were able to recycle used paper into greeting cards, make eco-blankets and reusable wax napkins that replace food wrap.
"It contains relevant master classes and educational programs. Not only for adults, but also for children. I hope they will take root in our kindergartens and schools. It is an honor to come to the very heart of Kazan with such an important idea for the life of society with lectures and training master classes. Nature needs to be protected, and every resident can contribute," said Damir Valiullin, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Environmental Education of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The main feature of the festival was the contest "Ecologist". After passing all the sites, 50 participants received diplomas and valuable prizes.
