Today, inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with journalists went on a raid on landfills as part of a sanitary and ecological two-month period.

The first point of the raid was a dump on Furmanova Street, 13 Moskovsky district of Kazan. Dilapidated buildings were demolished here, resulting in a landfill of construction waste. The administration of Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts was brought to administrative responsibility under part 1 of Article 8.2. of Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. In addition, environmentalists sent a statement of claim to the Moscovsky District Court with a demand to bring the territory into proper sanitary and ecological condition. The ecologists' claims were satisfied by the court, but the landfill has not yet been removed.

The next point of the raid was a huge dump in a ravine at 51 Gudovantseva Street. Construction waste was brought here by KAMAZ trucks. Today, the height of the landfill is 9 meters, and the volume is 1065 cubic meters.

"In March of this year, the Ministry of Ecology received information that waste is being brought here. Thanks to local residents, information was obtained on those vehicles that brought garbage here. Measures have been taken against the owners of these cars in accordance with the law. A warning has been issued to the owner of the land plot to eliminate the landfill. If he does not clean up the landfill, he will have to compensate for the damage, the amount there is serious," Vadim Gabdullin, chief specialist of the Central Technical Department, told reporters.

The third point was the container site at 49 Tsentralno-Mariupolskaya str. Here the dump was formed due to an overcrowded container site.

"Regional operators must remove garbage from container sites in a timely manner, and the district administration is obliged to monitor that the container site is in proper condition. Informational letters have been sent to the administration," Vadim Gabdullin clarified. He clarified that if residents have the same problem with garbage collection, they need to contact the Executive Committee of the municipality and the administrative and technical inspection.
