Kazan will soon develop design and estimate documentation for the implementation of measures to clear the bed of the Knoxa River and its tributaries. Engineering and geological surveys will be carried out, expertise will be passed.
Let us recall that the project for the improvement of the Knoxa River, which was presented by the Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov in September at a meeting with public figures, is being developed by environmentalists together with scientists. It is aimed at identifying and evaluating negative factors affecting the river.
In July of this year, specialists of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan together with scientists from the Institute of Ecology and Subsoil Use of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan have already conducted a survey of the river. On a site of 21.4 km, 25 points were examined and 91 facts of negative impact were revealed – these are landfills, tree blockages, restrictions on free access to the coastal strip. The ecological assessment of the state of the river was given at a meeting in the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan with the participation of representatives of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan Branch of the Russian Ecological Society, the Institute of Ecology and Subsoil Use of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and other organizations.
The project will be implemented in two stages. Alexander Shadrikov thanked the Kazan Executive Committee for its support and invited Kazan residents to join the project, the ultimate goal of which is comfortable living for residents.
"The river is more than 40 km long, starting from the Pestrechinsky district, only on the territory of Kazan the length is 21.4 km. Today, at the initiative of the public movement, we have started design and survey work. We would like to submit the project to the federal program within the framework of the preservation of unique water bodies. We want the river to please the eyes of Kazan residents," the head of the department noted.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia for inclusion in the federal project "Conservation of unique water bodies" of the national project "Ecology".
