We invite all residents of Tatarstan who are not indifferent to environmental problems to take part in the ECO-leader-2022 contest! If you are going to or have already helped the environment in some way, or maybe you have achieved certain results, tell us and become the Eco-leader of the year.
An 83-year-old resident of Kazan has beautified the spring on her own pension, a locksmith from the Almetyevsk district has created a park on the site of the ravine, and an 84-year-old resident of the Rybno-Slobodsky district, on his own initiative, removes garbage on the green parking lots of the M7 highway every week. All of them were awarded in different years at the republican contest "ECO-leader" held by the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Pensioner Tanzilya Sharapova was born and grew up in the village of Balykly-Chukayevo, Rybno-Sloboda district. For a long time, the woman was sick at heart for the spring in her native village, which was in a deplorable state. In 2018, the pensioner accumulated 260 thousand rubles and improved the spring. People from neighboring villages and even from Kazan now come to the spring for water. To implement the idea, the woman postponed retirement for a whole year.
Another ECO-leader is from the village of Chuvash Sirenkino, Almetyevsk district. Pyotr Ignatiev worked as a locksmith, and then began to combine the work of a machinist and a deputy of a rural settlement. In a few years, he created a whole park on the wasteland. On his initiative, work was carried out to clean up the Yersubaikino River, launch fish, shore protection, as well as landscaping of the territory. Other local deputies also provided assistance.
"To improve the park is my dream since childhood. There used to be a vegetable garden at this place, and a dump nearby. First, I cleared the place of debris, filled up the ravine, leveled the ground with a bulldozer. Then, with joint efforts, trees were planted, lanterns, gazebos, benches were put up, two bridges and a well were built. The area of the park is two hectares. It took about eight years for all the work," said Pyotr Ignatiev.
The family of another of our heroes also won the environmental competition. These are the Hannanovs from the Sarmanovsky district. The head of the family Ilnur Khannanov himself lost his leg in an accident, and since 2011 joined the ranks of environmental defenders.
For several years now, in the image of a one-legged pirate in a cocked hat, he has been putting the territories of Sarmanovsky, Aznakaevsky, Muslyumovsky and Almetyevsk districts in order. Ilnur and his family created an alley near the river Menzelya, where he planted blue fir trees and repaired an old bridge over the Kholodnaya River in the village of Leshev Tamak, calling it "Mahabbat Kupere".
In 2021, Anna Baymyashkina, a student, swept everyone off their feet. For 5 years now, Anna has been organizing clean-up days, conducting eco-lessons and developing her own environmental projects. She told us about all the events and became one of the winners of the "Eco-leader-2021".
