The certificates of a real "Citizen-scientist" were received by the participants who developed their own environmental project

15 August 2022, Monday

On August 13, a workshop was held in the exhibition hall of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan - the final lesson of the City Laboratory "Citizen-scientist". The participants presented and defended their environmental projects to the experts.

In total, 15 ideas were presented in four areas: ecology, architecture, scientific research and event filling of spaces.

The ideas were very different – the creation of eco-centers, the development of the green framework of Kazan, the launch of the festival "Electric Mobility" and others.

Vyacheslav Dolgov, head of the Department for the Protection of Water Bodies of the Ministry of Ecology, also became an expert. He spoke about a pilot project to improve the ecological condition of the Kazanka River and supported the idea of one of the participants - to attract citizens to explore coastal zones. Vyacheslav Anatolyevich also thanked everyone for their active participation and initiative in developing their projects that are useful for Kazanka and for the city!

Naila Zinnatullina, curator of Tatarstan urban environment programs, noted that "Infrastructure is not a goal, the goal is interaction between people in the process of creating a city and an environment for a high–quality and comfortable life."

The city Laboratory has become an important step in rallying caring citizens around the problems and prospects of Kazan.

Let us recall that the organizers of the project "Citizen-scientist" were the Kazanka Development Strategy team together with the Executive Committee of the City of Kazan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University and the platform "Another Matter".
