On July 7, join the city laboratory and become a real "Citizen Scientist"

From July 7 to August 14, Kazan will host the city laboratory "Citizen-scientist". In 12 practical lessons, you will learn how the ecosystem around the river works and how to contribute to its conservation.

You can learn more about the program at the acquaintance picnic, which will be held next Thursday, July 7 at 18.30 on the embankment near the building of the former restaurant "Parus". Damir Valiullin, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Environmental Education of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, Daria Tolovenkova, Deputy Chief Architect of Kazan, and Nailya Zinnatullina - the Curator of urban environment development programs in Tatarstan (Foundation "Institute of Urban Development of the Republic of Tatarstan") will tell about the new environmental education project within the framework of the Kazanka Development Strategy. During the classes, participants will be taught to take care of the city and the environment and will explain what eco-anxiety is and how to cope with it. In addition, within the framework of the laboratory, it will be possible to find out which plants from the red book grow in the center of Kazan and how different the air in the city is from the air at Kazanka.

The city laboratory should become a space for the exchange of knowledge between scientists and residents, as well as a place for joint experiments and new discoveries in their own city. The project was organized by the Kazanka Development Strategy team together with the Executive Committee of the City of Kazan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University and the platform "Another Matter".
