The relevance of the ESG agenda was discussed at the Ak Bars Bank site

Today, PJSC Ak Bars Bank hosted a meeting on the integration of the principles of sustainable development into the procurement activities of the state and corporations. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Ecology Olga Manidicheva, as well as representatives of large Tatarstan companies and leading universities of the Republic.

At the round table, the participants-organizers told about the formation of a competence center for the transition of procurement departments of the largest corporations of the republic to the green procurement model in order to reduce the carbon footprint on the basis of Ak Bars Bank and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Competence Center will form recommendations based on the best global practices, verify approaches and form a methodology based on Russian realities. 

The speakers also discussed the relevance of the ESG agenda on a global scale, integration at the level of banks, the risks of late response to regulatory changes in ESG, the reorientation of logistics chains to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region (APR) and the main trends in the development of the ESG agenda in supply chains.

Meetings with the largest companies of the Republic of Ak Bars Bank together with the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan are planned to be held systematically in order to share the acquired competencies.
