At the end of April, ecologists of the Priiksky TA received a complaint from residents of the village of Yekaterinovka. They reported that unknown persons were draining a liquid with a pronounced chemical odor, and also complained that industrial waste was being buried in their area.  Specialists of the Priiksky department together with a representative of the Chamber of Property and Land Relations of the Yutazinsky district examined a land plot near the village of Yekaterinovka. Environmentalists took samples.

During the survey on a land plot located on the territory of the Dym-Tamak rural settlement of the Yutazinsky district, spills of chemical reagents of unknown origin and a pit near which industrial waste is stored were found on the soil. According to an extract from the Unified State Register of Real Estate, this plot belongs to industrial lands. The owners of the plot were identified. A notice was sent to them to give an explanation and to take appropriate measures (the owners of land plots did not appear to submit explanations).

In relation to the owners of the land plot, a warning was issued about the inadmissibility of violating mandatory requirements.

On May 7, the Ministry of Ecology received a call from an employee of the Department of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Yutazinsky district on the fact of draining an unknown liquid into a pit near Yekaterinovka. Environmentalists left on a call and together with police officers detained the vehicles from which the drain was carried out.  During the survey, soil samples were taken, and photography was carried out. The toxicity of the soil was revealed by the selected samples.  A criminal case has been initiated by law enforcement agencies.

On May 13, a decision was made by the Commission for Emergency Situations and Fire Safety of the Yutazinsky district to involve Mercury LLC in the immediate reclamation of this site with excavation of at least 25 cm deep. After the reclamation work, repeated sampling of the soil will be carried out.
