A giant snow dump the size of a football field was discovered by environmentalists in Kazan
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from citizens through the "People's Control" system about illegal storage of snow on Torfyanaya Street (near the Anchor boat station). Inspectors of the Central Territorial Administration together with employees of the Central Department of Environmental Supervision of the Ministry went to the address indicated in the appeal. The fact of environmental violations has been confirmed. The area of the polluted territory was 8620 sq.m., the volume was 9482 cubic meters. Snow samples were taken by specialists. According to the results of biotesting, polluted snow belongs to hazard class 4.
In relation to the Administration of the Sovetsky district of Kazan, a protocol has been drawn up under Part 1 of Article 8.2. of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. This article provides for a fine in the amount of 100 thousand to 250 thousand rubles. The material was sent to the Sovetsky District Court of Kazan for decision-making.
