5 tons of used batteries were collected in Kazan in the framework of the Year of Ecology. Used chemical sources of current belong to the 1st class of household waste. They contain tin, mercury, zinc, magnesium, nickel, cadmium, lead, and one finger battery can pollute from 10-15 square meters of soil or 400 liters of water. With the aim of reducing the entry of hazardous waste into the landfills, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan developed a project on collecting and disposing of batteries within the framework of the Year of Ecology.

The fact of using subsoil with violation of conditions was revealed by the inspectors of the South-Eastern Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in Almetyevsk District. In the subsoil "Solovyevsky" the construction company carried out the extraction of common mineral (crushed stone) on agricultural land.

Today is the World Day of Recycling. The festive date, which began in 1997, is aimed at drawing the attention of the authorities, the public and industrial structures to fighting pollution and solving the problem of limited resources.
On this day, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan will hold an action to collect used chemical sources of current (batteries).On this day everyone can take the used batteries to the reception point, and receive a nice gift in return – live key ring.

The pages of the Red Book were viewed by the pupils of the first ecological class in the republic. Educational event for schoolchildren was conducted by specialists of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the employees of the National Museum of the Republic. On the ECO-lesson they told the kids why some species of animals are included in the Red Book and which representatives of the animal kingdom of the native land need special protection.

On December 12-14, 2017 in Moscow the International Exhibition Center “Crocus Expo” will host the V All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection. The corresponding order was signed by the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Sergey Donskoy.

Applications are accepted for participation in a photo contest “Trees - monuments of wildlife”, participants of which can be residents of the Russian Federation above the age of 18.
For participation it is necessary to register on the website: http://rosdrevo.ru/request/photo-contest/ and send a photo before August 1, 2018. The contest accepts color and monochrome photographs (including black and white), the subject of which are trees recognized by the Certification Commission of the Program as nature monuments (a list of such trees can be found at: http://rosdrevo.ru/derevya-pamyatniki-zhivoy- prirody-spisok).
