The International conference “Biodiversity and business: approaches and solutions” will be held on October 2 – 3rd, 2014 at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. The conference is aimed at the search of mechanisms for efficient interaction of government authorities, scientists from various countries and business with regard to inclusion of the matters regarding preservation of biodiversity into the processes of planning, arrangement and carrying out of economic activity in the field ofoil producing and coal industry, as well ashydraulic power industry.

The contest “School eco-patrol” is to start from September 1, 2014 in educational establishments of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event is aimed at engagement of pupils of the Republic in practical work regarding sanitary cleaning. The project was developed by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, and it was presented today during the plenary sitting of the August meeting of the fellow workers in education and science fields that was held in the urban-type settlement Bogatye Saby.The idea of the contest lies in the fact that each pupil with a mobile phone would be able to register landfills during non-study time and send them to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan through a filter of the call center of the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan, where statistics will be formed with regard to each pupil, class, school and municipality.The contest will be held during the whole school year.

The Ecological Saturday work campaign “Green Russia” will be held on August 30, 2014 on the territory of the Russian Federation. The event is aimed at improvement of the ecological state of Russian cities and regions. It is assumed that 83 Russian regions will participate in the campaign, including representatives of public organizations and movements, big, small and medium businesses that are not indifferent to the problems of environmental pollution.The event is arranged by the All-Russian ecological public movement “Green Russia” with the assistance of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage.In Tatarstan, the campaign will be held in every town and district of the Republic with the assistance of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage for the Republic of Tatarstan.

Today, experts of the Central Specialized inspection of analytical control carried out monitoring of the state of surface waters of the river Kazanka together with inspectors of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event is carried out in the framework of the High Diving World Cup that will be held in Kazan on August 8-10. Today, water samples were drawn with regard to 32 indicators.

The 3rd International Specialized Exposition of ecologically friendly, natural and organic products “EcoCityExpo Autumn 2014” will be held on November 21 – 23, 2014in Moscow.Within three days eco-products of Russian and foreign manufacturers will be presented in four sections:
- “EcoFood”–ecological products and drinks, healthy food, farming products;
- “EcoBeauty”–organic and natural products in the industry of beauty, makeup and fashion;

Shortly before the High Diving World Cupthat will be held in Kazan on August 8-10th at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the stateof surface waters of the river Kazanka was monitored. Water is sampled daily by the Central specialized inspection of analytical control in order to control water quality.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan announces thestart of annual republican contests “ECOleader” and “Man and Nature”.
The contests are aimed at attraction of public attention to the problems of ecological safety, encouragement of nature protection activity of companies, as well as activation of the work of republican mass media, improvement of professional skills of journalists that cover ecology-related topics.

Experts of the Northern Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan held a contest for the best ecological poster at the children’s recreation camp “Romantik” of Baltasy municipal district. All in all, 7 teams including children from 7 to 16 years old took part in it. The topics of careful attitude to the nature of the motherland were touched upon along with the rules of human behavior in various environments, as well as on imminent ecological problems of global importance.

A series of meetings is held these days in Austria in the framework of the project UNIDO-GEF aimed at decrease in energy consumption and emission of greenhouse gases by industrial companies of the Republic of Tatarstan. First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Kamalov participates in meetings.
